As a member of an interdisciplinary team of experts at the interface between R&D, customers, suppliers and plants, you can make a big difference with us!
Main Responsibilities
- As a member of the development team you will be responsible for the process conception, development and implementation of CNC machining and grinding processes for new launches in our segment of assembled products. This includes translation of drawing specification and needed dimensional tolerance requirements into process solutions (fixture & tool concept).
- You will actively contribute to acquisition projects by defining specifications, executing feasibility studies and supporting cost calculations for new products and modifications.
- For our customers you are the competent technical contact to discuss feasibility and capability of our solutions.
- You will consult our manufacturing engineering team in the design of machining and grinding cells including the technical documentation of the relevant processes.
- Contributing to the defined processes and technical requirements you will support our purchasing team during the supplier sourcing.
- Of course, you will accompany our manufacturing plants during the commissioning of the systems and ensure the optimal setting of the processes and compliance with customer specifications on site.
- In addition, as a technology scout, you keep an eye on current developments and ensure that we remain at the top of our industry with state-of-the-art processes and technologies.
Position Requirements
- Engineering degree, e.g. mechanical engineering, process engineering, production engineering, or comparable field of study.
- Professional experience in the automotive or metal processing industry. Especially a robust knowledge about the supplier market is needed.
- Professional experience in process engineering in CNC machining and grinding.
- Profound knowledge in dimensional tolerance definitions required.
- Experience in CNC programming are recommended.
- Additional experience in other production technologies is welcome (e.g. leak testing/washing)
- Desire to acquire more generalist knowledge and understanding around the application of "your processes" is required in any case.
- Enthusiastic team player with very good communication skills - in German and English - with the necessary standing to consistently pursue common project goals.
- Enjoy working with international colleagues - approx. 30 - 40 % of your working time will also be spent on site at our German and Central European plants.
