USA/CAN  
   
Objective  
 This position is responsible for technical support and development of structural components in casting, joining, corrosion, heat treatment, coatings, welding, testing and R&D activities.  
Main Responsibilities  
• Maintain standards and technical specifications as related to Nemak processes and customers components.
• Develop controls, testing and quality standards for cast and assembled component manufacturing processes and testing
• Provide metallurgical and process support in new product and process developments
• Participates in the APQP method to establish process limits and work instructions through DOE and traditional statistical practices. Parameters including alloy melting practices and heat treating optimizations.
• Interact with Nemak R&D teams to integrate development projects into full industrialization while advancing the Structural Component core initiatives.
• Defective Analysis for customer product failures and tooling steel failures. Determine the root cause and to recommend corrective actions to prevent reoccurrence. Report findings to QIM and management.
• Manage incoming material testing procedures, process monitoring and control. Write comprehensive work instructions for the melting, heat treating and testing departments.
 
Position Requirements  
Education
• Bachelors's Degree
 • Working knowledge of aluminum and casting process.
• Other aluminum forming processes a plus.
• General laboratory practices and analysis report writing skills are essential for analysis of materials, defects and failures.
• Working knowledge of foundry processes and equipment.
Experience
• 1-3 years
