Objective

The HSE Coordinator is responsible for assisting in the development, implementation, and management of safety programs as well as work closely with Facility Managers in addressing any safety concerns or needs.

 

Main Responsibilities

  • Performs safety risk & compliance evaluations and develop appropriate recommendations to address any noted deficiencies.
  • Ability to review and analyze loss data in an effort to identify accident trends.
  • Work closely with departments/areas that are experiencing employee accidents.
  • Identifies and assists in the implementation of regulatory codes and requirements set by local, state, federal and corporate policy.
  • Participates in the reviews and monitoring of chemical product usage, storage, transportation to assure compliance legal requirements.
  • Assists in the development and/or enhancement of new and existing HSE policies and procedures.
  • Develops and presents health & safety training programs.
  • Conducts and reviews investigations of accidents.
  • Identifies situations that may be a source of danger or pose a hazard to employees.
  • Makes recommendations regarding improvements in employee health and safety protection.
  • Manages Workers Compensation Issues and the Return to Work programs in cooperation with Human Resources.

 

Position Requirements

  • Bachelors Degree in HSE related field preferred
  • 2+ years of related experience
  • Knowledge of Environmental, Health and Safety laws and best practices
  • Familiarity with manufacturing environment
