Global IMS Electrical Projects Sr Engineer
Objective
Contributes to the Internal Manufacturing Solutions by defining and selecting the electrical-electronic and automation technology to be used in internally manufactured equipment and evaluating that used by external suppliers, ensuring the good performance of production equipment and compliance with flexible, modular, robust, transferable and safe design standards.
Main Responsibilities
- Develop the control architecture in IMS projects assigned to the Tech Center based on the content of RFQs. This involves the definition of electrical technologies to be used, according to the purpose of the machine.
- Prepare automation and control quotes for turnkey projects developed at the Technical Center, which will be taken as part of the final machinery designs, competing with external vendors products as the best electrical solutions.
- Ensure compliance with international safety standards (OSHA and CE) through the selection and integration of safety devices in manufacturing cells.
- Determine and assign the required labor resources for project execution.
- Ensure the application of current technologies in executed projects by reviewing technical designs and ensuring corrections when needed. Lack of participation of this position, may be critical for the performance and safety of the developed solution.
- Participate in technology fairs and meetings with suppliers and engineering firms to keep up to date with technological trends.
- Coordination with operational areas to adapt equipment in the Automation and Control area, ensuring is part of the solution from the design until installation phase.
- Support to the different business units to solve chronic problems in control and automation systems.
- Support to the project engineering areas of the different areas in the definition of the Control Architecture in the launching of new programs.
Position Requirements
- Bachelor’s in Mechatronics, Automation, Electrics or similar required.
- Intermediate English
- 5 years of experience in Electronics and robotics, Manufacturing equipment and Automation and control
- Functional Competencies: Electrical Design softwares. Automation and control, Statistics and AI, Production simulations, Machinery manufacturing
