Global IMS Mechanical Design Sr Engineer
Objective
Responsible for designing, analyzing, and improving mechanical systems, components, and products. Including its conceptual design, detailed design and CAD modeling, Analysis and Simulation, Prototyping, Materials selection, Production support, etc.
Main Responsibilities
- Design Generation: Having understood the manufacturing solution need, the holder develops complex design concepts based on client requirements, market needs, and technical feasibility, which needs to be the best compared to other vendors from the market as possible.
- CAD Software: Using Computer-Aided Design (CAD) tools to create detailed 3D models of mechanical components and assemblies.
- Finite Element Analysis (FEA): Performing simulations to analyze the stress, strain, and thermal behavior of the design to ensure it meets safety and performance requirements.
- Testing and Validation: Conducting tests on prototypes to ensure they function as expected, meet regulatory standards, and perform under various conditions.
- Material Properties: Choosing appropriate materials for components based on strength, weight, cost, and environmental factors.
- Assembly and Integration: Discuss with the casting experts in the plants for providing guidance in the correct usage and in the assembly process and troubleshooting any issues that arise during production.
- Documentation: Ensuring the detailed documentation for all design phases, from initial sketches to final production, sometimes with the support of other Design Engineers.
- Iterative Design Process: Continuously refining and improving designs based on feedback from testing, production issues, or customer input.
- Internal customers: Communicating with plants / regions about design progress, cost estimates, and potential risks, negotiating for the design benefit when required.
Position Requirements
- Bachelor’s in Mechatronics, Automation, Electrics or similar required.
- 5 years of experience in Mechanical Design, Manufacturing, Casting and CAD
- English intermediate required
- Functional Competencies: Mechanical design, Hidraulic / neumatic, Mechanical calculation, Design softwares, Casting, Manufacturing processes
