HSE Occupational Health Specialist MEX

 

Objective

Responsible for leading and managing health and wellness programs in compliance with legal requirements, corporate standards, and regulations. Ensure proactive health risk management, the implementation of health programs, and support for the prevention of workplace injuries and illnesses..

 

Main Responsibilities

  • Planning and managing the annual budget required for the optimal operation of BUMX’s medical services and health and wellness programs, as well as identifying opportunities for cost optimization                                                                                                                     
  • Create, manage, communicate, implement, and ensure the execution of health programs for BUMX aligned with the organizations and its population’s vital projects and initiatives                                                                   
  • Ensure the monitoring and epidemiological reporting of occupational and/or general diseases that pose a potential threat to the organization and the development of containment proposal  
  • Serve as a leader in occupational health processes and advise plant management on the management of occupational health and public health risks in BUMX operations                    
  • Manage, communicate, and implement comprehensive wellness strategies for BUMX in collaboration with the respective departments involved                                                                   
  • Ensure the collection, proper recording, and analysis of information for the annual calculation of the risk premium in compliance with IMSS legislation                                                      
  • Ensure the recording and analysis of relevant information on BUMX’s population and individual health for strategy development and decision-making                                                                   
  • Manage necessary improvements in the provision, infrastructure, and design of medical service processes to ensure quality of care                                                                              
  • Serve as an advisor and facilitator for BUMX operations regarding audits, investigations, inspections, and legal compliance with various authorities in the areas of occupational health and well-being                                                                   
  • Contribute to the development, administration, implementation, and analysis of results for occupational health projects at BUMX                                                                                  
  • Ensure standardization of processes and their proper execution in BUMX medical services through process audits and improvement proposals                                                                   
  • Develop and document occupational health processes within the occupational health and safety management system aligned with ISO 45001        

 

                                                                                                                                                                

Position Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in bachelor’s degree in medicine and surgery/Obstetrics Required, Master's Degree or Certificate in Occupational Health – desirable.
  • Strong knowledge of Management of multidisciplinary Healthcare Staff; Handling internal and external audits; Medical services administration; Development of comprehensive wellness programs; Public Health; Risk Management; Ergonomics and Occupational Health
  • Language: intermediate
