Legal Leader Mexico

Purpose
Responsible for proactively engaging with internal leaders and stakeholders to advise and manage various corporate legal processes for the Mexican business region.
Main Responsibilities

Provide direct legal support to operations and the purchasing area in Mexico, advising on supplier contracts, disputes, and day-to-day legal matters to ensure business continuity.

Manage legal matters related to operations, including permits, land use, leases, property regularization, and filings before the Public Registry of Property.

Address and manage environmental and regulatory matters required for operations, ensuring legal compliance necessary to operate facilities and projects.

Lead administrative litigation, claims, and regulatory proceedings, including inspections, sanctions, and processes before authorities, coordinating external counsel when necessary.

Advise operational areas in resolving day-to-day legal issues, providing practical solutions aligned with Mexican law and business needs.

Provide legal support on safety, environmental, and operational compliance matters, working closely with Operations and HSE teams.

Represent the company before governmental authorities and regulatory bodies, directly managing legal matters related to operations.
Position Requirements
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in law. A master’s degree is a plus.
• Experience: 8–10 years of experience in legal roles supporting business operations, preferably in operational, industrial, retail, logistics, or infrastructure environments. Experience handling operational legal matters is required.
• Technical Skills: Operational legal support, permits, environmental and regulatory compliance for operations, administrative litigation, contract drafting and negotiation related to operations and procurement.
• Soft Skills: Hands-on leadership, problem-solving, ability to work under pressure, teamwork, effective communication, and strong results orientation.
• Languages: English – Intermediate level.
