Process Engineer
Objective
Support in ensuring continuous control of the metallurgical and sand parameters of the plants, performing the necessary chemical tests (qualitative and quantitative) to optimize quality in the production process. Implement and maintain the proper functioning of the Quality Management and Process Accreditation System.
Main Responsibilities
• Manage the Quality, Safety, and Environment Policy with the work team
• Plan, develop, and control chemical laboratory testing procedures, ensuring the quality and accuracy of results
• Prepare patterns and standards used for Spectro equipment, etc.
• Coordinate with the Operations area to carry out testing of process samples and solutions.
• Distribute activities among field and laboratory staff
• Control sand and chemical analysis by closely monitoring granulometric and metallurgical parameters in the production chain.
• Prepare and certify daily and/or monthly reports on key indicators and results obtained, addressed to Quality & Operations Management.
• Periodically review testing procedures and validate new methods aimed at eliminating systematic errors.
• Train and supervise those who perform activities in the laboratory in the preparation of material, providing assistance if required.
• Support direct supervisors in management aspects in order to achieve the development and operation of processes.
• Ensure the conditions of use and operation of the elements, instruments, and equipment necessary to carry out activities in the laboratory.
• Manage material and supply requirements in a timely manner for the normal operation of the laboratory.
• Ensure that all equipment is approved and up to date, and that it is operating correctly within the scope.
• Manage maintenance and calibrations in accordance with the “Annual Equipment and Instrument Maintenance and Calibration Program,” ensuring the metrological traceability of results.
• Analyze process variations in chemical composition and sand data, guiding staff to maintain the process.
• Administer and keep updated the SOPs and all documentation as indicated by the Quality System.
• Verify deviations (Test Sheets) so that actions can be implemented, allowing for their effective execution with staff.
• Organize and coordinate internal and external laboratory audits.
• Manage user and customer complaints.
