Objective

The Quality Engineer is responsible to monitor and participates in the improvement of quality systems that pertain to pertinent areas of expertise and job responsibility. The Quality Engineer II is also responsible for APQP on programs that are assigned. Must be knowledgeable in all customer program requirements and quality assurance processes related to specific job responsibilities.

 

Main Responsibilities

  • Ensures that all potential failures created by internal processes are adequately controlled to ensure that the customer will not receive non-conforming product. Maintain quality standards to ISO/TS 16949 and ISO 9001 requirements.
  • Develops documentation pertaining to inspection, including gaging sheets and key documentation
  • Determines and implements production controls per APQP documentation sufficient method of inspection for identified failure modes.
  • Facilitates all root cause analysis investigation ensuring that all necessary documentation is updated.
  • Manages customer relationships reporting internal and external quality concerns
  • Manages the actions with regard to customer’s quality incidents.

 

Position Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering preferred; Associates required
  • Minimum of 3 years-experience in the automotive/manufacturing industry preferred
  • Die casting is a plus.
  • Must have experience in the APQP process.
