Quality Systems Specialist

 

Objective

The Quality Systems Specialist is responsible for developing, implementing, standardizing, and sustaining all internal Quality Systems for the site. Serve as the site Lead Auditor and lead certification efforts for the IATF16949 Audit and compliance to the standard, including all relevant Customer Specific Requirements (CSRs) and Customer Specific Audits. 

 

Main Responsibilities

  • Responsible for managing, coordinating, facilitating, standardizing, and sustaining the Quality Management Systems for the site; including functioning as the Lead Internal Auditor.  This will include but is not limited to generating and administrating the yearly audit plan, administrating the Layered Process Audit system and managing the Internal Audit CAR / PAR system.
  • Provide training and guidance to internal auditors.
  • Coordinate third party audits with the register for the site and respond accordingly to all nonconformances identified during internal or external audits.
  • Develop and maintains internal Quality System to ensure Nemak maintains compliance to all relevant customer requirements; including assuring all appropriate associates are properly trained in compliance with the Customer Specific Requirements
  • Collaborates with Quality Engineers, Production Leaders and other team members to Audit and drive compliance to internal Quality Systems.
  • Responsible for managing compliance to ISO 17025 Lab certification if applicable
  • Serve as key contact for IMDS documentation coordinator

 

Position Requirements

  • Associate’s Degree, Trade or Tech. School in Quality, Engineering, or related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience

 

  • AIAG IATF 16949 Fluency required
  • Print, Specification, Control Plan and PFMEA familiarity required
  • Must have experience in the APQP process, PPAP and SPC methods
  • Knowledge of Problem Solving Techniques including 8D, 3L5W and Fishbone Diagrams
  • Previous Lead Auditor Experience strongly preferred; position will require successful completion of external Lead Auditor Training if not already certified
  • Minimum of 3 years-experience in the automotive industry preferred, Die-Casting industry is a plus.
  • Previous supervisory experience preferred
  • Familiarity with MS Office suite of software (Outlook, Word, Excel) Minitab a plus
