Tooling Engineer

Objective
The Tooling Engineer is responsible for development, design, build and maintenance schedules for HPDC tooling. Including CAD, simulation analysis, and advanced troubleshooting. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure dies are efficient, high-quality and meet production targets. Responsible for budgets, timelines, PPAP and manufacturing acceptance activities.
Main Responsibilities
- Monitor and analyze tooling downtime and dimensional data to design solutions for improved uptime and repeatability.
- Work with cross functional teams to solve complex problems. Design innovative solutions to improve filling, thermal balance, venting, cost and die life.
- Create, modify and maintain revision control of tool CAD, prints and spare parts.
- Manage quoting, procuring, costs, tool build, cavity replacement and other die components. Lead design review activities.
- Other duties as assigned.
Position Requirements
- Associates degree required; Journeyman toolmaker experience highly desirable.
- 3-5 years’ relevant experience preferred
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office.
- Must be proficient in CAD.
- Must have die design experience.
- Experience with flow simulation software is desirable but not required.
- Ability to multi-task.
- Strong communication skills both written and verbal.
- Must have a strong attention to detail.
