Regional Supplier Quality Engineering

Objective

The Regional Supplier Quality Engineer will support Quality Assurance activities related to Supplier Chain Management and the Nemak Quality Organization, including preparation of action plans, inspection and test plans, supplier evaluation, training, communication, supplier quality and process improvements and system analysis for continual improvement. Work with foundry, customers and SQE resident to track data, identify improvement projects and manage cross functional implementation for improved performance.

 

Main Responsibilities

  • Using the Statistical Process Control (SPC), Advanced Quality Process (AQP) tools and the Metrics, proactively identify and help implement improvement to the Supplier Quality and Supplier Quality Tools and Processes.
  • Promote the use of Statistical Process Control (SPC) and continuous improvement techniques at Suppliers to help them reduce variability and achieve process control
  • Train Suppliers to effectively execute Corrective Action Requests (CAR) along with appropriate problem solving tools.
  • Initiate and follow-up Corrective Actions (CAR) in partnership with Quality Engineering to ensure complete and effective root cause analysis and corrective action implementation.
  • Perform periodic audits of Supplier Quality Systems for the purpose of assuring continued Supplier conformance to the quality system requirements.
  • Travel to suppliers and plants as required (25-50%)

 

Position Requirements

  • Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering (BSME) or related field
  • Three years of experience in Quality departments in automotive.
  •  Must be familiar with ISO/TS (IATF) 16949 or related Quality Standard.
