Objective

This person will be the first line of communication between the customer and the Nemak manufacturing facility. They will be responsible for reacting to issues identified at the customer and provide details to Nemak plant. They will work closely with the customer and provide needed support to address quality concerns. Responsible for collecting data and providing timely feedback to the plant. Responsible for coordinating sort activities and providing sort criteria and approval of work.

Main Responsibilities

  • Analyze quality of product incoming, in process and finished at the customer plant in order to provide a continuous feedback to the foundry and allow preventative containment of any customer complaint, current or potential.
  • Reports to the foundry Quality Engineer with data concerning the customer plant production and reject information with all pertinent information in the Nemak format.
  • Formally accept or dispute rejected products before they are returned and billed to the foundry, through specific procedures approved by the customer.
  • Work with the supplier on 8D through proven problem solving techniques.
  • Review PPAP packages and provide approval for the plant.
  • Report to customer in cases of urgent needs, organizing containment of defective parts, if necessary through the supervision of the foundry or contract personnel; initiate problem solving documentation if required, following up in the process of defining and implementing corrective actions also by traveling to the foundry.

Position Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related field preferred; Associates degree required
  • 3+ years relevant experience as Quality Engineer, Resident Engineer or similar position with experience in customer relations, containment activities, and data analysis
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Must have excellent English communication skills both written and verbal; Spanish language skills preferred
  • HPDC Manufacturing and Machining/CNC experience strongly preferred
