Tooling Technician 

 

Pay Rate $26.52 - $38.48 per hour

 

Overview:  

Perform maintenance on high pressure die cast tooling.

 

Responsibilities 

  • Assesses damage to the tooling and determines repairs needed.
  • Ability to do machining operations on drill press and surface grinder.
  • Ability to perform die changes.
  • Ability to spot dies and cores
  • Follow maintenance work order to determine what repairs are needed from production and quality.
  • Ability to skillfully and artfully use hand-finishing tools.
  • Performs special projects and other duties as assigned.
  • Ability to assemble and disassemble tooling.
  • Strictly adhere to all safety rules and regulations.
  • Keep work and shop area clean and orderly at all times. 5S must be followed.
  • Ability to use overhead cranes.

 

Requirements (Training, Experience, Education)

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent. Some technical training and one-year in machine shop environment preferred.
  • Good mechanical skills. Can disassemble and reassemble mechanical equipment.
  • Have some welding skills, exposure to mig, tig, and arc welding
  • Possess ability to use machines such as mills, lathes, drill press, and surface grinder
  • Possess knowledge of basic blue print reading and assembly drawing
  • Use calipers and micrometers for dimensional inspections
  • Use of oxygen acetylene torch
